10th annual Math Prize for Girls contest took place on September 23rd at MIT. 285 contestants participated this year. Yuxuan Zheng from New Jersey got first place and earned $20,500. An A-Star alumnus, Catherine Wu from Bay Area got 2nd place and earned $9,350. Her prize was limited because of reaching Math Prize’s lifetime cap of $50,000 that a student can earn over the years. Jessica Wen from Puerto Rico got 3rd place and earned $5,000. She also received, as a 7th grader, the Youth Prize awarded to the highest scoring contestant in 9th grade or below.
